1. Acceptance of Terms and Platform Scope
CarChale provides a digital platform connecting automobile sellers, dealership networks, and prospective buyers across Ghana, including major commercial regions such as Accra, Kumasi, Takoradi, Tema, and Tamale. Our platform allows users to check vehicle valuations, publish auto listings, research current market prices, and connect directly with car vendors.
By using CarChale, you affirm that you are at least 18 years of age and possess the legal capacity to enter into binding agreements under the laws of Ghana. CarChale operates strictly as an online marketplace and information resource. We are not a licensed car dealership, auto importer, insurance broker, or customs clearance agent, unless explicitly stated under specialized direct services.
2. User Registration and Account Security
To post vehicle advertisements or access specific interactive features on CarChale, you may be required to register a user account. You agree to provide true, current, accurate, and complete information during registration, including your full legal name, valid phone number, and active email address.
- Account Security: You are solely responsible for keeping your login credentials and account password secure.
- Account Responsibility: You accept full legal responsibility for all activities, messages, and vehicle listings published under your CarChale account.

3. Vehicle Listings, Pricing, and Import Duty Disclaimers
Car prices displayed on CarChale reflect estimates, market averages, or individual seller asking prices quoted in Ghana Cedis (GHS). Because vehicle values in Ghana are affected by foreign currency exchange rates, fuel price adjustments, shipping rates, port clearing expenses, and local market demand, prices listed on our platform are subject to change without notice.
CarChale displays listings for both foreign-used imports (commonly known as unregistered or Tokunbo cars) and home-used vehicles already registered with the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA). Sellers are strictly responsible for the accuracy of all vehicle details posted on carchale.com.
- Custom Duty Status: For foreign-used vehicles, sellers must explicitly clarify whether Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) Customs Division import duties and port clearance charges at Tema or Takoradi ports have been paid in full.
- DVLA Registration: For home-used cars, sellers must clearly provide the year of registration, current licence plate status, and actual vehicle mileage.
- Condition Disclosure: Sellers must disclose mechanical history, previous accident damage, structural repairs, engine faults, or electrical issues accurately.
4. Buyer Guidelines and Pre-Purchase Verification
Driving conditions across Ghana place unique stress on motor vehicles. Heavy traffic congestion along the N1 George Walker Bush Highway and Spintex Road in Accra, combined with unpaved suburban roads, potholes, dust, and equatorial heat, means that cars experience varying degrees of wear and tear. CarChale strongly advises all buyers to perform thorough physical and legal due diligence before transferring any money to a seller.
- Physical Inspection: Always meet the seller in a safe, public, high-visibility daylight location, such as a busy commercial center or verified vehicle hub in Accra or Kumasi. Never meet in isolated places.
- Mechanic Assessment: Engage a qualified, independent automotive technician to inspect the engine block, gear transmission, chassis, air conditioning, and suspension system for hidden defects or wear caused by rough road conditions.
- Legal Documentation Verification: Verify that the vehicle identification number (VIN) matches all original DVLA logbooks, roadworthiness certificates, GRA customs duty receipts, and insurance records.
- Financial Protection: Do not transfer full payment or advance deposit fees via Mobile Money or bank transfer before physically confirming the existence, condition, and clear ownership title of the car.
CarChale is not a party to private sale agreements and assumes no financial or legal liability for vehicle defects, fraudulent documents, stolen cars, or unpaid customs duties associated with listed vehicles.
5. Seller Conduct and Listing Rules
By posting a car advertisement on CarChale, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to display, promote, format, and re-share your listing images and text across our digital platforms and social media channels. As a seller on CarChale, you pledge to comply with the following posting standards:
- Honesty: You must not upload misleading photographs, tampered odometer readings, fake chassis numbers, or fraudulent vehicle specifications.
- Ownership: You must either be the lawful owner of the vehicle or possess written legal authorization from the owner to conduct the sale.
- Pricing Clarity: Advertised prices must reflect genuine asking figures in Ghana Cedis (GHS) without hidden, unstated fee add-ons.
- No Duplication: You may not post multiple identical listings for the same car across different categories or locations.
CarChale reserves the right to remove any listing, suspend seller privileges, or permanently ban accounts that breach these standards without prior warning.
6. Fees, Paid Services, and Platform Charges
Browsing car listings, searching price indices, and viewing market reports on CarChale is free for buyers. We may offer optional premium listing packages, featured dealer spots, banner advertisements, and dealer directory features for commercial importers, car sales lots, and private sellers for a fee.

All paid services on CarChale are quoted in Ghana Cedis (GHS). Fees paid for advertising boosts or featured placements are non-refundable once the service has been published on the platform.
7. Intellectual Property Rights
All content, structure, layout, pricing algorithms, valuation tools, branding elements, software code, logos, and written guides published on carchale.com are the exclusive intellectual property of CarChale and are protected under Ghanaian copyright, trademark, and intellectual property legislation. Users may not copy, extract, web-scrape, replicate, or commercialize any part of CarChale without our prior written consent.
